A new initiative to bring the ideas of Kilwinning natives to life will rock into town this week.
Nick Wright, of Nick Wright Planning, will be involved helping shape the future of the town but says it is ultimately down to the people to decide.
Nick said: “What’s in the plan will be up to the local community: it will be Kilwinning’s plan. Neither we nor the council have any preconceived ideas. What we would like, however, is to make sure that the plan has some bigger more ambitious proposals that will really make a difference to problems of inequality, poverty and deprivation. There will be money available to make things happen through the Council’s Community Investment Fund and Participatory Budgeting, so this will not just be pie-in-the-sky.”
People can get involved through an online interactive map and also in person at a series of events.
The interactive map and details can be found at www.kilwinning.town or you can head along to the public events which will take place at the following places:
Thursday, May 23: 12:30-1:30pm: Kilwinning College foyer.
Thursday, May 23: 7:30- 8:30pm: Kilwinning College foyer. Saturday, May 25: 11am-12pm: Erskine Hall, Garden Square Lane/Lauchlan Way
