The Segdoune Royals will be crowned this weekend as Music in the Park arrives in Kilwinning.

The big day, on Sunday, June 2, will bring together a mix of musical talent across two stages in McGavin Park, kicking off at noon with the Garnock Valley Pipes and Drums followed by a jam packed programme made up of local school bands, soloist, groups and musicians of all kinds, closing at 7pm with Kilwinning Orchestral Flutes.

The Segdoune Royal Crowning of Gabby Hutson takes place at 3pm, with Kilwinning Academy head teacher Mr Tim Swan doing the honours.

The rest of the Royal party consists of Bailie Donald (Depute Segdoune Royal) - Pennyburn Primary, Kenza Hood - Abbey Primary, Kerris Bryden - Blacklands Primary, Ava Blair - Corsehill Primary, Rebecca Steel - St. Luke’s Primary and Abbie Gillion - St. Winning’s Primary.

Entry to the event is free with free face painting, balloon art and kids entertainment.There will also be inflatables and small kids rides and wristbands will be available.

Residents will be able to top up water bottles.

Parking will be available, follow signage and stewards instructions on the day.

Organisers say no alcohol or glass containers allowed.
