Irvine hospital volunteers handed over a generous £12,000 donation to the Ayrshire Central.

Ayrshire Central Hospital Volunteers presented NHS Ayrshire & Arran with a cheque for £12,000 at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 21.

Janette McTaggart, a Trustee of Ayrshire Central Hospital Volunteers, said: “We are absolutely delighted to present this cheque for £12,000 to Ayrshire Central Hospital. Each one of our volunteers dedicates their time and energy into providing vital services for all the patients, relatives, visitors and staff.

“All our profits from selling goods in the Woodland View shop and trolley services are donated back to the hospital to be used for the future benefit of everyone who uses the hospital site.”

William Lauder, General Manager of Ayrshire Central Hospital, said: “I would like to thank each and every one of our Volunteers. They have brought a sense of community to our hospital site.

“They know a lot of our patients by name and offer a very happy and friendly welcome to everyone using their shop.”
