A four-year-old budding pop star has taken social media by storm after amassing more than 100,000 followers from across the globe.

Lochlan Bowie, from Montgomerie Park in Irvine, is reaching for the stars after starring in a series of his own music videos which have captured the imaginations of thousands of people around the world.

Parents Marianne, 29, and Iain, 36, set up a Facebook page for the youngster and within weeks it went viral.

Marianne, says Lochlan – who’s stage name is ‘Wee Lochie Bear Bowie’ – has been singing and dancing since he could walk and talk and just loves performing.

She told the Times: “He got into it by himself. He loves singing and it’s all the older singers that he loves. It started when he watched a Michael Jackson video and he wanted to watch it all the time and he started singing along and copying the dancing.

“Now he asks for Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Neil Diamond. People might think we have pushed him in to it, but we haven’t. He just loves it and loves us filming. A friend of mine said I should set him up his own page so I did. It was only supposed to be a wee bit of fun but he just kept getting more and more likes and now there are over 100,000 followers and they’re from all over the world, from America, New Zealand and China. It’s amazing.”
