FAMILIES made the most of the good weather at a fun day in Eglinton Park.

The event saw NHS Ayrshire & Arran and Health and Social Care Partnership staff and their families walking or running the 5.6km or 2.6km woodland routes in the sunshine.

There were lots of activities for the children, including bouncy castles and games.

Those taking part received a hand-made medal designed and created by the Board’s Acorn Furniture Workshop, and fruit for the participants was donated by Failte Food Service Ltd.

Patricia Leiser, Human Resources Director, explains: “Over the past couple of years, we have been working hard to encourage as many of our staff as possible to get more active.

“Yet again it has been a successful and sociable event. It has been wonderful to see staff from all different services and departments getting together and enjoying the beautiful countryside we have in Ayrshire.

“This event would not have been possible without the hard work of our staff on the planning team, who put in a huge amount of their own time and effort, and to all the other helpers, volunteers and marshals on the day, who made this event the success it was.”
