Youngsters are invited to sign up for free art workshops in Irvine this July, thanks to money seized from the proceeds of crime.

Impact Arts’ CashBack to the Future programme will offer four weeks of creative workshops to 12-19 year olds facing barriers to inclusion.

Classes will run at Impact Ar ts, 60 Bank Street, Irvine KA12 0LP from July 2 until July 26 from Tuesday until Friday every week, with spaces for 30 young people to take part.

The scheme is open to young people from areas of deprivation, who are at risk of engaging in anti-social behaviour, experiencing mental health issues or over 16 but out of work.

Natalie McFadyen White said: “CashBack to the Future is about offering amazing creative experiences to young people who would otherwise have difficulties accessing similar programmes. It’s about br inging high-calibre artists, brilliant materials and equipment, into a fun, friendly, high-paced and creative environment and watching young people ideas develop and flourish.”

Over 200 youngsters across Scotland will take part, before coming together for a live performance at Glasgow’s iconic Barrowlands on July 25.

Workshops are entirely free with lunch included along with a contribution towards travel expenses.

This is the third year the scheme has run thanks to the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Communities funding seized from the proceeds of crime. For more information, call 01294 273 051 or email cashback@impactarts.co.uk.
