GARNOCK Community Campus Parent Council have managed to buy a minibus for the school after raising over £23,000.

The parent council have been fundraising for the bus for many years, having held events such as curry and quiz nights, clairvoyant evenings, and money box collections.

Several local companies also contributed money towards the purchase. The vehicle is being used by the secondary, primary and early years children for educational trips and sporting events.

Alan Dick, head teacher at Garnock Community Campus, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to purchase the campus minibus. The parent council have worked so hard over several years to raise the funds.

“We are extremely grateful to the local businesses who have helped to fund the bus, including CK Contracts, McTaggart Construction, Reids Foods, and J and D Pierce.

“Already the bus is being used daily to enrich the opportunities for the young people of Garnock Community Campus.”

Mary Gemmell, chairperson of the Parent Council, added: “Fantastic to see the finished product, thanks must go to all the local businesses that have contributed to getting this minibus on the road. A wonderful asset to the school and the community.”
