Elderly woman spotted walking along middle of A78
An elderly woman was spotted walking along the middle of the A78 today.
Three police vehicles rushed to the scene after receiving several reports of a woman walking along the central reservation just before 2pm this afternoon.
Traffic officers caught up with her shortly after with police thanking the public for swiftly reporting the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We received multiple reports at around 1.50pm regarding a lone elderly female walking down the central reservation of the A78.
"Police responded as a priority call with three traffic units in attendance.
"She was traced by police at around 2.05pm.
"We would like to thank all the members of the public who reported the incident."
