A visitor who smuggled cocaine into prison has been given unpaid work.

Louis Campbell was caught sneaking the class A drug into HMP Kilmarnock while he was visiting an inmate on May 21 this year.

The 21-year-old of Moncur Road in Kilwinning commited the offence whist on bail from Ayr Sheriff Court.

He admitted the offence at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and was given a Community Payback Order with 80 hours unpaid work and six months supervision.
