AN IRVINE woman has admitted swindling more than £12,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Ashley Wilson admitted to fraudulently claiming thousands of pounds in housing and council tax benefits between May 27, 2014 and July 19, 2018.
The 30-year-old admitted falsely claiming to North Ayrshire Council officials that she was living alone at a property in Pinmore, Kilwinning, when in fact she was living with her partner who was in employment.
The court heard Wilson fraudulently claimed a total of £12,498.63 over the four years she claimed to be living alone.
Wilson was given a Community payback Order with 18 months supervision and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
