TWO North Ayrshire groups featured in a hip-hop documentary broadcast on the new BBC Scotland channel.

Laser City Crew from Irvine and Three Towns rap group All Time High were both involved in the filming process of Loki’s History of Scottish Hip-Hop.

The documentary reveals the history of Scottish hip-hop, as Darren ‘Loki’ McGarvey looks back at over 30 years of culture and speaks to the pioneers in music, dance and art.

The groups were approached by Sasquatch Productions last year to feature in the programme.

In the documentary, Irvine’s Laser City Crew talk about how the break-dance scene first started and the rivalry between them and Glasgow City Breakers with stories about the world-famous dance battles at the Plaza Ballroom in Glasgow in the early 1980s.
