Residents enjoyed a free family fun day in Kilwinning library.
Attendees enjoyed a host of activities at the community health and well-being fun day on Tuesday, August 13 with representatives from health and mental health charities also on hand to offer advice and support.
North Ayrshire Libraries staff worked alongside sixth year pupils from Kilwinning Academy involved in the school’s Health and Wellbeing Hub to organise the event, with activities including DigiDabble, a silent disco, chair exercises, mindfulness sessions, a laughter workshop, storytelling, KA:Leisure health checks and an uplifting family film with pizza and popcorn.
The event is part of a Scottish Government-funded project administered by the Scottish Library and Information Council, titled ‘Co-creating libraries for health and wellbeing’, with North Ayrshire being one of the three pilot areas to involve communities in developing library services for health and wellbeing.
