IRVINE’S seniors got their dancing shoes on amid the Marymass festivities last week.
Around 200 people attended the annual Carters’ Senior Concert on Monday, August 19 in the Volunteer Rooms.
The annual dance is organised by the Irvine Carters Society to give something back to the older people of the town who have supported Marymass over the years.
The entertainment included dancing, with music provided by Pat Donnelly, and once again Provost Ian Clarkson took the lead on the dancefloor.
Provost Clarkson said: “The Senior Citizen’s Concert is certainly one of the highlights of Marymass.
“It is great to see so many people enjoying themselves, dancing and singing the night away. “Marymass Queen, Kerris, and her Marys were on hand to serve and assist with the meals at the tables.
“It is an event suited to Marymass, where the community comes together, and has fun.
“The Carters, their wives and friends all helped to make it a night enjoyed by everyone.”
Well done to everyone involved in organising another terrific event.
