TWO inseparable Irvine school pals are due to make their television debut after being picked to appear on a popular children’s TV show.

Five-year-old Chloe Lennon and her best friend Leon Skinner, eight, will appear on the CBeebies show, Swashbuckle, next month.

The youngsters have been life-long friends, neighbours and even go to the same school.

Chloe, who is signed up to modelling agency Zebedee, was cast for the part in the show earlier this year and was asked if she would like to bring along a friend and immediately chose Leon.

Chloe’s mum Jade said: “Chloe was invited along to audition and asked to bring a friend along. Leon is her longest friend so it definitely made sense for him to go along with her.

“They attended the audition workshop with other children and we found out a couple of weeks after that they’d been successful.

“They absolutely loved it on the day and are definitely very excited to watch the episode when it’s aired.

Leon’s mum Ellie, said the Castlepark Primary pupils was delighted to join Chloe.

She said: “They have been wee best pals for life so when Chloe got the job and they asked if she wanted to bring along a friend she chose Leon straight away.

“He was so excited. He loves drama and performing so this was a good chance for him to have a real taste of it. He definitely has the acting bug.”

The new series of the show will be shown on CBeebies on Saturday, August 31 and the episode featuring Chloe and Leon will air on Saturday, November 2 at 10.30am.
