Kilwinning’s all set for its big fireworks display which organisers say will probably be the best display in Ayrshire.

Kilwinning Community Events’ Fireworks in the Park will return on Tuesday, November 5 in McGavin Park on Dalry Road.

The event kicks off with the kids rides, stage, food outlets and stalls all open at 4.30pm then at 5pm the free fire acts, magician, kids entertainment and face painting begin.

At 6pm the lower noise short family display starts which will have less big bangs and more sparkles to suit younger children.

At 7pm an 18-minute themed music display, professionally known as a Pyromusical Display starts for the first time in Kilwinning.

Organisers say they will attempt for the music and fireworks to be in harmony to assist masking some of the large bangs to reduce the noise impact far from the venue.

Suggested donation on entry £5 a family or what you can afford.

Organiser Cllr Donald Reid said: “Remember warm clothes, wellies or boots as we have wet grass underfoot and a torch.

“Make sure your children have a note of your name and mobile in case getting separated. Tell them to go to any steward if separated and we will have a lost children post signed.

“Please do not bring DIY fireworks, alcohol or glass onsite, as you will be refused entry as we reserve the right to search at the event.

“Parking will be signed and have stewards on duty. Most will find it easier to park at the railway station or town centre car parks and walk the last bit.

“Blue Badge parking will be available at Kilwinning Academy on a first come served basis. Nearby residential streets will have no parking cones in place and will be enforced.”
