Are you a bit of a Digi Guru? Or do computers, iPads, mobiles and all things digital leave you scratching your head in confusion?

Whatever your skill level, why not come along to Irvine’s Trinity Active Travel Hub on Saturday, November 9, where North Ayrshire Council’s Digital Irvine team is running a free, drop-in event between 10am and 2pm.

Bring along your iPad or mobile phone and take part in a ‘digital clinic’, where volunteers will be on hand to help you get online safely and securely and offer advice on protecting your information, connecting with friends, and how you can save money through using technology.

If you’re curious about Virtual Reality, there will be a chance to try it out – so if you fancy being transported away to a peaceful beach, are curious about how the Trinity Church looked in days gone by, or just want to experience the gaming side of Virtual Reality, then this is your chance.

North Ayrshire Libraries will bring along their Digi Dabble equipment, a gaming area will be set up, and Scratch coding club will also give demonstrations throughout the day.

A host of organisations will also be on-site to offer advice and information, including banks, mobile phone shops, Community Link Workers, volunteering opportunities and digital training providers

A survey will be available to complete on the day, with the team asking you to share your opinions about what is needed with regards to digital skills and training in the Irvine area. Two lucky survey participants will each win a £25 iTunes gift card, so don’t miss out on the chance to have your say and enter the draw.
