Irvine's Christmas lights organisers have announced a date for the big night and calling out for volunteers to help steward the event.

Irvine's switch on event will be on Sunday, December 1 and Irvine Special Events Forum are looking for volunteers to be part of this special event.

Volunteers would have to help control entry/exit and movement of people on the night, provide traffic management and parking marshalling services, report any anti-social behaviour, illegal activity or perceived dangers to the supervisor and provide updates relating to stewarding issues within your area.

Flexibility is essential as the event will take place in the evening outside normal working hours. Roles and responsibilities will be discussed and you would be required to attend a two-hour session during the week leading up to the event.
