Waverly expert and author Iain Quinn will be arriving at the Scottish Maritime Museumum’s Puffer’s Cafe on Wednesday, November 27 where he will be talking all about the beginnings of Paddle Steamer Waverley’s new life with the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society during the 1970s and 1980s.

Guests can choose to come for a Meal and Talk at 7pm with tickets priced £12 or the talk only at 7.45pm with tickets priced £5.

The most travelled paddle steamer in the world and one of the most successful of all the restored tourist ships that still survive, Paddle Steamer Waverley was withdrawn from service this year, for the first time in 45 years, due to mechanical problems with the boilers.

Proceeds from Iain’s talk will go to the Save the Waverley Boiler Refit Appeal currently underway to raise the £2.3 million required to return Waverley to service in 2020.

Tickets for Iain Quinn’s talk at Puffers Café at the Scottish Maritime Museum can be purchased at www.scottishmaritimemuseum.co.uk or call 01294 472 7177.
