A P5/6 class in Blacklands Primary School had an exciting time learning how to paint in the style of Kandinsky and Van Gogh.
Supported by two members of the Arts Society Ayrshire, Young Arts, over two afternoons, the children learned about colour mixing.
They went on to paint in the style of Kandinsky, painting his famous circles, followed by Van Gogh’s sunflowers.
The Arts Society Ayrshire gave the school a donation of £200 and each child received a certificate and a pack of coloured pencils.
The money will be spent on encouraging the children in the arts.
The Arts Society Ayrshire is an organisation affiliated to The Arts Society which aims to broaden interest and participation in the Arts.
The society meets in the Walker Hall, Troon at 1.30pm on the second Monday of the month when there is a lecture on some aspect of the Arts followed by tea and coffee. http:theartssocietyayrshire.org.uk).
New members and visitors are always very welcome.
As well as talks, there are social events and visits to places of artistic or cultural interest.
Further details of the society can be found on the website or by contacting the membership secretary at memsecasa@gmail.com
