NORTH Ayrshire Council is again supporting the movement that encourages people of all ages, and all skills, to learn more about technology and computer programming.

The Hour of Code starts on Monday and as well as events for staff and their children, the council is hosting a special community event at the Portal on Wednesday, December 11.

Whether you are simply looking for a new exciting and educational activity for you and your child, or have bigger ambitions to create your own app or game, coding provides a great opportunity to do exactly that.

The session takes place from 9.30-12.30pm.

The Coding the Future Project Team will answer any of your questions and help you complete an hour of coding in the community.

Fiona Walker from North Ayrshire Council said: “People can often be overwhelmed by technology and that can put them off from using it.

“What we try and do during the Hour of Code Week is show people that technology can be a whole lot of fun and using code can be really rewarding.

“We’d love to see as many people as possible and our team will provide all the help and assistance that you require.”
