Plans for nearly 200 new homes in Kilwinning were approved last week.

Homebuilder Taylor Wimpey welcomed the decision by North Ayrshire Council’s Planning Committee to approve proposals for 198 new homes at Wood Farm in Kilwinning.

The site at Wood Farm off Dalry Road to the north of the town will includes a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes.

The site is allocated in the recently adopted Local Development Plan (LDP2) and will play a significant role in delivering much needed new family homes.

Lesley McVeigh, Taylor Wimpey’s Strategic Land and Planning Manager said: “We are very pleased and welcome the Planning Committee’s decision to approve our proposals in Kilwinning. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the local community for attending our public exhibition in October last year and for all the valuable feedback they provided to our proposals. Their comments and feedback played a significant role in shaping the final design of the application.

“With over 250 prospective buyers already registering an interest in a new home, we are confident that this will be a popular and successful development and look forward to starting on site in the near future”.

Taylor Wimpey aim to be on site in the first half of 2020, with the first homes available to buy later in the year.
