GENEROUS martial arts aces from Irvine helped boost the funds of a school for children with special needs.

Irvine Judo Club's Alan Melvin and Nicki Brawley of Irvine Judo Club presented a cheque for £200 and four M&S hampers to Fiona Dunlop, interim head teacher of Stanecastle School.

The money is being used to help with funding for the school’s Christmas trips.

A cinema visit was organised for one group of children, while the others had a fun-filled kids play excursion.

They raised it through bag packing at Asda and through the generosity of their club members and parents.

The school are grateful to the club for their support.

Irvine Judo Club organise a whole host of classes for both children and adults at their base in Parterre.

A couple of years ago their facilities were expanding with support through a range of different grants.
