SICK children have had their Christmas made after a generous festive donation from an Ayr store.
Poundland donated 635 Advent Calendars to Crosshouse’s Children Unit which was flooded with toys and treats to help kids on the road to recovery.
Staff at the High Street shop led by manager Janine asked customers to spend an extra pound in order to donate an advent calendar to the ward.
The fundraising effort saw a huge hual of the chocolate filled calendar’s donated to for the children at Crosshouse to enjoy.
Michelle Dodds, Hospital Play Specialist said: “It’s fantastic to receive these kind donations which helps bring some festive cheer to the children at the this time of year.”
The Children’s Unit also received a generous donation from Ayrshire school pupils who raised funds to buy gifts for kids.
Beth Baird from Kilwinning, along with her friend, James Kirkland, wanted to give back to their local community and chose the Children’s Unit at University Hospital Crosshouse to benefit.
