The next outing for the Cunninghame Ramblers will be on Sunday, January 5 and will be Hill Wood walk at Straiton.

The walk is six miles with a fairly long incline at the start and some wet and muddy terrain but participants will be rewarded with lovely views if the day is clear.

This is the first walk of the new year and organisers are hoping to see a good turnout.

On the following Tuesday, January 7, the walk will be a linear one from Paisley to Johnstone a distance of around seven miles mainly flat and on pavements and cycle tracks.

Participants on this walk should arrange to be at Paisley Gilmour Street Station for 10am.

The starting point for the Straiton walk will be the Caledonian Carpark off East Road adjacent to Aldi in Irvine. Participants are advised to arrive in good time for a prompt departure at 9.15am.

Anyone requiring further information regarding a walk is invited to discuss the details with the walk leader on the phone number indicated above.

New walkers are welcome to participate in up to three walks prior to being required to take a membership of the Ramblers Association.

Membership gives an entitlement to participate in the walking programmes of all the Ramblers Association groups throughout the United Kingdom. Within Ayrshire there are three groups located around Irvine, Kilmarnock and Ayr who organise weekly walks within the South and West of Scotland.

The leader’s phone no. is 07740351348.
