A 28-year-old has been arrested after an assault and attempted robbery at an Irvine petrol station.
The man was charged with alleged assault with intent to rob after the incident at Tesco Petrol Station in Riverway Retail Park at around 3.55pm on Sunday.
He is due to appear at court today (Monday).
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault with intent to rob at Tesco Petrol Station in Riverway Retail Park, Irvine around 3.55pm on Sunday, 5 January 2020.
"He is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court today (Monday, January 6)."
