Police are on the hunt after thieves raided an Irvine pub and stole funds for a children's charity.

Thieves raided the bar in the Three Craws pub on Dickson Drive last night.

Police received a report just after noon today after the owner arrived at work to find entry had been forced at the property.

The Three Craws owner has since took to social media to appeal for anyone with information to get in touch.

He said: "Unfortunately we have been broken into. Any information on who done it would be greatly appreciated.

"We are all really annoyed and upset by this, we are trying hard to make this pub something great again and folk just ruin it.

"They have taken the kids charity bottle as well."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report at 12.09pm today (Wednesday) after the owner of a pub on Dickson Drive found forced entry at the property."

Police Scotland can be contacted on 101 or in an emergency 999.
