Mure Church parishioners said a fond farewell to three people who have contributed greatly to the Church in recent years.

Last Friday the church team said goodbye to Fraser Cooper and his wife Morag plus the Rev Willie Hall with a social evening and presentation arranged to mark the occasion.

Boutreehill residents Fraser and Morag are Elders in The Relief Church at Bourtreehill and in October 2012 Fraser was appointed Interim Moderator of The Mure.

Since then, Fraser has kept things ticking along at The Mure, ably supported by Morag and in that time, have become good friends to the Mure.

Some eight years ago, Rev Willie Hall was a retired Minister looking forward to relaxing and spending time with his family and grandchildren – when he then agreed ‘to take on The Mure as a Locum’.

That was in July 2012.

In his time with The Mure Congregation, the Rev Willie has become a much loved and respected part of The Mure.

Brought up in Cochrane Street in Irvine, Willie was a member of Fullarton Parish when Rev P.G. Thompson was in post.

Several Mure parishioners remember Willie as a member of Church organisations such as the BBs.

Fraser, Morag and Rev Willie will all be much missed and the Social Evening and Presentation on Friday is the congregation’s way of formally expressing their thanks and appreciation for all they have done at The Mure.
