The individuals, believed a male and a female, have been trying to enter premises and attempting to steal items.

In Girvan, a host of salons and shops, including charity stores were targeted as officers launch a probe to identify two suspects.

A worker in a barbers in the town has told how she had to chase the pair out her place of work, as the man tried to reach over to the till and steal cash, before trying to snatch personal belongings from the back of the business.

But the worker of Paul’s Barbers acted fast and chased them from the shop.

She told the Advertiser: “They are travelling far and wide. I have contacted the police already. They are targeting shops in Ayr, Maybole, Girvan and other areas.”
