KIND-HEARTED Greenwood pupils and staff recently raised funds to help a mental health charity.

Pupils at the school presented a cheque for £300 to the Beautiful Inside and Out charity last week.

This is after raising £600 with the money split with the school’s Greenwood Appeal.

Instead of sending colleagues a Christmas card staff were invited to write a festive message on a tag and donate the money they would have spent on cards.

An amazing £600 was raised and was divided between The Greenwood Christmas Appeal 2019, which goes directly to families in the local community and Beautiful Inside and Out, which is currently doing group work with pupils in school.

Beautiful Inside and Out received £300 and an additional £150 was raised from pupils who made and sold Christmas decorations.

The Beautiful Inside and Out charity was formed after the tragic suicide of Ayrshire 13-year-old Jenna Moriarty one day after school.

Her heartbroken mum set up the charity, which supports the bereaved families who have been affected by suicide through group meetings and specialised bereavement councillors.
