Ayrshire wedding businesses have made it to the shortlist for prestigious industry awards.

A huge total of 28 local businesses are finalists in the Scottish Wedding Awards 2020.

Elite wedding specialists and companies makeup the top names that create fairy-tale and unique weddings across the country.

Dream Brides in Irvine is nominated as the Wedding Boutique of the Year.

Owner Kirsty Grant said: “We were the regional winner in 2018 and a finalist last year, so obviously it’s great to be a finalist this year. It’s brilliant to be repeatedly nominated and recognised.

“We’ve obviously been here for a long time, since 1988. We worked hard at changing the image and becoming very social media savvy.

“We try our best to be really friendly, and make girls feel at home here.”

The black-tie ceremony will take place on Tuesday, February 25, at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow, where top specialists and establishments that have gone above and beyond in the sector will gather to celebrate their achievements.

A spokesperson for The Scottish Wedding Awards 2020 said: “These awards are now recognised as the leading celebration for showcasing those that have demonstrated excellence in the industry.

“The aim is to acknowledge everyone in this sector that has shown skill, commitment and have the customer satisfaction as top priority in their business.

“The competition is tough this year but it is time to acknowledge everyone who has shown dedication and professionalism in their workplace; two key features that make individuals and businesses stand out from the rest.”
