An Ayrshire Love Island contestant has missed out on romance after her short TV stint.

Jamie McCann, from Stevenston, exited the show after failing to couple up.

The 24-year-old eyelash technician did not manage to recouple with one of the Love Island boys and so missed her opportunity to enter the main Villa.

Her departure was met with disappointment from Love Island fans on Twitter who wanted to see more of the North Ayrshire girl.

Jamie enjoyed interest from Nas, the 23-year-old Sports science graduate and builder from London, but the Love Island boy coupled up with one of the other Casa Amor girls, Eva, instead.

Family and friends of Jamie who were running her Instagram account while she was sunning herself in Cape Town posted an update today thanking viewers for their support. They promised that it is not the last we will see of ‘Ayrshire’s Love Island Queen’.

The post said: ‘Jamie’s Love Island journey may be over but so many exciting things are just beginning for her.

‘Just want to say a massive thank you for all the support and love everyone gave our beauty during her time in Casa Amor. She was absolutely true to herself and can leave the villa with her head held high!

We are all incredibly proud of her and cannot wait to see where this once in a lifetime experience takes her.’

Biggs Chris from Glasgow, another Scot who entered the show this week, was also dumped from the Island.

The fallout from Casa Amor continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
