Irvine Royal has a new permanent head teacher after the appointment of Linzie Sloan.

Ms Sloan said she was delighted to take up the post after serving as depute head at Kilwinning Academy before the move to Irvine.

Linzie Sloan had been the acting head of the school since September after the departure of Alison Sutherland who took up Head of Service for Children, Families and Justice Services at Cunninghame House after less than three years at the school.

She said: “Delighted to have been appointed permanent Head Teacher at Irvine Royal Academy today.

“It truly is a privilege to have been given the opportunity to lead this great school.

“Thanks to everyone for all their support and encouragement.”
