A 26-year-old has been arrested after a knife-carrying shoplifter caused a disturbance in an Irvine supermarket.
Police arrested the man at 9.30am this morning [Thursday] after a disturbance in Aldi on East Road.
He was also alleged to be carrying a knife and in possesion of controlled drugs.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 9.30am on Thursday February 27 at Aldi Stores, East Road, Irvine a 26-year-old man was arrested for alleged shoplifting, causing a disturbance and the possession of a knife and suspected controlled drugs."
