Irvine residents met a range of employers and employment agencies when the Employability Partnership Jobs Fair visited last week.

Hosted by the council, the one-stop-shop for employment at Irvine’s Volunteer Rooms was a fantastic success with over 500 people in attendance.

Local people were invited along to have a chat with a range of employability experts who were on hand to support them with everything they need to make the next step in their job search journey.

Key contacts from a number of North Ayrshire Council services were in attendance and a host of local employers were also on hand including: NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Hansel, Ayrshire Quality Care, Community Jobs Scotland, Cornerstone, Orridge and Carewatch.

Highlights on the day included a total of 45 interviews conducted, 61 CVs received and 207 application forms were handed out.

Overwhelmingly positive feedback was also received as attendees shared comments which included, “Very busy, vibrant with a fantastic atmosphere…”, “Great venue with lots of choice for the public,” and “…a varied selection of exhibitors, attracting various types of recruitment prospects.”
