Irvine and Kilwinning’s top curry houses are set to battle it out to be crowned the best in Scotland.

Irvine’s Gulab Tandoori, Lawthorn Farm Pub and Indian Restaurant and Kilwinning’s Torranyard Tandoori have all made the Scottish Curry Awards Restaurant of the Year finals, joined by Saltcoats’ Motherland Spice and Ayr’s Rupee Room.

Hoping to take home the top takeaway prize are Volcano on the High Street, Zains Curry House in Dalry and The Curry Leaf in Ayr.

Ardrossan’s Jaipur Indian Restaurant is up for Best Loved Restaurant, with Ayr India and Taj Bar and Kitchen in Prestwick in the Dining Experience of the Year shortlist.

The awards ceremony takes place at the Crowne Plaza on Monday, April 6, with secret diners getting set to test menus.

The Scottish Curry Awards recognise and celebrate the devotion, service and tasty food provided by the best establishments in the industry, who work their hardest to perfect every meal.

The Gulab previously won best team of the year and best restaurant of the year by the Scottish curry award in the past and has managed to make the finals for the past seven years running
