A woman was taken away by police after an assault alleged to have involved a golf club.
Police attended the Hunter Drive area of Irvine after a man was assaulted earlier this this morning [Thursday].
One resident told the Times the woman was taken away by police after shouting and singing before launching into the attack on a male - which the Times was told involved a golf club.
She was then heard shouting, screaming and kicking inside the police van.
Police say enquiries are ongoing into the incident with the victim not requiring medical attention.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At 6.02am on Thursday, March 26 2020, police were made aware of an assault that had just occurred in the Castlepark/Vineburgh area of Irvine.
"Police attended and enquiries are ongoing at present."
"The victim did not require medical attention."
