The kind-hearted team at Irvine’s family-run Bank Street shop are doing free deliveries for elderly residents and offering free hand sanitiser refills to help residents through the coronavirus crisis.

The Premier Store team are offering free deliveries within a two mile radius of the town centre – with Raj Sapkota ready to deliver goods to anyone who can’t get out the house by the next day.

The team urge anyone with parents, grandparents, family members and friends unable to get to the shop to get in touch if they need help with daily essentials during this difficult time.

And the store are also offering free 50ml hand sanitiser refills to customers who bring their own bottles.

Harjit Sapkota: “My husband Raj Sapkota and myself are working around the clock to ensure we are here for the community buying and sourcing stock.

“During this time we haven’t inflated prices and still 80 per cent of our stock is price marked.

“We are also introducing new products and services that customers are asking for.

“This is now the third generation running this family store. We follow the same values that our late dad Paul Singh did.

“Humanity is the key to survival. There is enough for us all.

“This is a time of need and we need to work together . We encourage our customers to shop local. A lot of the products that people are wanting from larger chains are available within the store, toilet rolls, daily essentials, bread and milk fresh fruit and veg. Avoid the queues at large supermarkets and support your local community
