A NEW mobility scooter store is set to bring three jobs to Irvine.
An application to change the use of a vacant yoga studio at MacAdam Place, South Newmoor Industrial Estate for a storage and distribution centre for mobility scooters was approved last week.
Robert Frew of Mobility Matters said: “We feel that being away from the town centre will help customers with parking and be able to test out their purchases before buying without disturbance to other shoppers. We are aware some people feel embarrassed about their disability and we can offer more of a personal service.
“We currently have customers on our books that stay in the Irvine area and we feel it will benefit them if we opened up a shop in the area to save the customer any extra expenses of travelling.”
