An Irvine shop issued a warning after a customer entered the store claiming to have coronavirus.
Bourtreehill Supermarket put out the warning after the staff's health was put in danger during the incident this evening [Monday, April 6].
The statement said: "We have just had a customer come into our shop and tell us at checkout she had the coronavirus, we do not know if this was just to scare us or if she had it.
"Please if you have the coronavirus or any symptoms relating to it to self-isolate and use the app we have provided as you are putting members of the public and our staff in great danger.
"We have wiped down the full shop and disposed of the items the customer had tried to purchase as we do not tolerate this behaviour."
