More than 150 local people have signed up to help local community hubs in the fight to tackle COVID-19 in North Ayrshire.

The volunteers were hand on to assist North Ayrshire Council’s volunteering network, operating in each of the six localities – North Coast & Cumbrae, Garnock Valley, Irvine, Kilwinning, Three Towns and Arran.

If you would like to get involved, and aren’t already part of a volunteer group you can call your local hub and sign up to help your community on 01294 475900.

Well done to everyone who is taking the time to help others!

Scotland is in lockdown. Shops are closing and newspaper sales are falling fast. We’re not exaggerating when we say that the future of the Irvine Times, and the vital local news service we’ve provided since 1873, is under threat.

Please consider supporting the Irvine Times in whatever way you can – by paying just 90p for a copy of the paper, when you’re shopping for essential supplies for yourself and others, or by subscribing to our e-edition here.

Thanks – and stay safe.
