POLICE horses were out for a trot along Ayr beach to carry out patrols.

Lockerbie and Oban, with riders PCs Watson and Curran, paid a visit to Ayrshire Division last week to ensure people were staying safe and following Scottish Government guidelines.

They were met by Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Area Commander at Ayr, who, along with Sgt Michael Cowan, were out on patrol in South Ayrshire.

Despite the sunny weather the beach area was very quiet with social distancing measures being adhered to.

A spokesperson for Ayrshire Division said: “We want to thank the public for following the Scottish Government guidelines by only leaving the house for essential shopping, travelling to and from work if you can’t work from home and for daily exercise.”
