An Irvine man is walking 23 miles round his garden in a kilt for NHS Charities Together after Covid-19 postponed his Kiltwalk plans.

Colin Nisbet, a retail worker from Irvine, was due to take part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2020 this month. After it was postponed due to coronavirus, Colin has decided to walk 23 miles round his back garden – and stream it live on Facebook for all to watch and donate.

Colin set up a justgiving page for the cause on Tuesday and received more than £200 in donations in just a couple of hours.

Colin said: “It’s something different so I thought, why not? We have decent weather at the moment and I like walking. The furthest I’ve walked is to Ayr and back and I could’ve kept going. I think 23 miles will be easy!

“With everything going on at the moment, the NHS need our support. We need to help them so they can help us whenever we need it.”

Colin will be livestreaming his 23-mile walk on Monday, April 27 at 9am.
