AN AYRSHIRE group are planning to organise a night out to remember for NHS ICU staff across the area.

Fit Ayrshire Dads want to help the staff in the intensive care units at Crosshouse and Ayr Hospitals.

The group, founded by 41-year-old Irvine man Kev Brown, wants to give something back to those in the community who are helping so much during the coronavirus pandemic.

FADs started their ‘Fiver for Thanks Challenge’ on Sunday, April 12 and have already raised a sensational £1,165 at the time of writing.

And the fundraiser for the superb work all staff in the ICU departments are carrying out will run until this Saturday, April 25 when Kev will shave his ‘much-loved barnet’.

A spokesperson for the group said: “Since its inception, Fit Ayrshire Dads have stepped up to help its members in the wider community when needed.

“Right now, there are many people risking their lives to help us.

“Fads want to give something back – it’s what we do.

“So, we are going to raise money for the staff of Crosshouse and Ayr ICU departments to have an amazing night out when this is over.

“We know there many other departments and other key workers who are not NHS staff, but we had to choose someone to help and give thanks to.

“And as a thank you to you guys for raising the money, you will all get to witness our very own founding father, Kev Brown, shave his much-loved barnet.

“If that’s not enough, our FAD team will make a top up donation from the FAD funds.

“If you can make a small donation, £5 is the suggested amount, then it would be hugely appreciated.”
