Firefighters have tackled a wildfire stretching across a mile in Carrick Forest.
Four fire engines attended the scene in the Straiton area when the alarm was raised at 4.39am this morning (Tuesday, May 5).
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze covered around one mile.
There were no reports of any casualties.
Fire crews extinguished the flames and left the scene at 9.17am.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 4.39am on Tuesday, May 5 to reports of a wildfire within Carrick Forest near Straiton, South Ayrshire.
“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and firefighters worked to control and extinguish the flames.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
