Bier Halle have announced that they have sadly lost one of their longest-serving members of staff due to COVID-19.

An emotional Facebook tribute tells how Teofilo Ituralde, otherwise known has ‘Teo’, had been an "integral" part of the bar's kitchen team as he had worked there for over ten years.

It reads: "At work he commanded great respect and was an inspiration to his colleagues.

"Two years ago he had a bypass surgery but as soon as he was fit he was straight back to work, this is why it has been such a shock that such a strong willed person could succumb to this awful virus.

"The dangers are still very real and more than ever we have to do everything in our power to keep the infection rate down.

"RIP Teo, we love you and miss you always. Stay safe! “It’ll all end in Bier’s!” BH Team x."

Kind comments have flooded in for the "lovely" man.

One person said: "So sorry for this, lovely man x".

Another said: "How sad! I know how this will affect you, sending love."
