The DRONGAN Primary Hub children have been supporting the Helping Hands group this week by sorting out food packs for children in the community.

The Helping Hands group in Drongan have been supporting the community by providing a food provision for those who need it most.

Helping Hands has received funding from Coalfield Regeneration Trust which will go towards creating resource packs for every child in the school after the group saw a rise in those using the provision since lockdown began.

Sean Maddocks, head teacher at Drongan Primary School, said: “We are hoping to deliver these to children over the next couple of weeks and several staff members have volunteered to help out.

“I know that the ‘Helping Hands’ group has been a great support to the community, and as Head Teacher of Drongan Primary School and ECC I have noticed how much the village has pulled together during these difficult times.

“On behalf of the school community I am very grateful for all that they have done and are doing.”
