A MAUCHLINE woman has captured local attention by decorating her street with bunting and other lockdown-inspired decorations.

Cumnock Chronicle:

Pat Standen, secretary of Cycle Ayrshire, made the decorations for the annual cycling festival in Dean Park but when the event was cancelled, decided to hang them around Glebe Avenue to cheer people up on their daily walk.

Cumnock Chronicle:

Pat said: “I put messages on them like ‘stay at home’ and ‘we’ll meet again’ then fitted them around lampposts, bollards and grit bins to celebrate key workers and of course the Ayrshire countryside. It gives people something to look at and to smile about. I’ve seen many kids stopping as they pass.”
