Plans are now underway to bring Marymass to life online - and organisers want your ideas to make the festival as magic as possible amid the COVID-19 crisis.

The community festival has to be called off earlier this year for the first time since WWII due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

But Marymass Festival Committee members have been working hard during lockdown to bring elements of the festival to life online for the first time.

And an appeal was launched this week for the public to help gather ideas focusing on what the community want to see online during the festival period.

Dillon Green of the Marymass Festival Committee said: “We’ve been working on a number of digital projects over the last few months.

“The festival is community based, and we want to provide people with content they are interested in. We are asking for ideas, no matter how small, to help bring the festival to life for 2020.

“We’ve looked at moving some of our traditional events online and at the feasibility of new ideas such as a podcast or new digital content.

“Now more than ever, we need to connect people and give the local community something to look forward to. If you have an idea or would like to help bring something to life and incorporate it as part of our Virtual Marymass 2020, please do get in touch.”
