Lightning has struck at least two homes in the Three towns causing devastating damage.

One house was left with a hole in the roof and fire fighters attended before being called to a nearby property where a strike had started a fire.

The lightning tore through the roof of the property on Dykesmains Road.

But a large fire in a home on Dykesfield Place caused part of the roof to collapse.

A total of eight appliances reponded and the blaze was extinguished.
