A NEW dog-friendly food place is set to open in the high street after a much-loved cafe sadly shut its doors.

Taste Irvine will soon open its doors on the former Cafe 131 site in the next few weeks.

The new eatery and takeaway say they plan for two tables for out the front and with work being done to prepare a seating area out the back of the premises.

Opening hours are still to be confirmed but it is expected to be open during the day and evenings, with the cafe to have its own bakery for fresh cakes cakes and bread rolls and other baked goods.

A spokesperson said: “We will be doing takeaway by phone, Just Eat or people can come in for something and take it away with them.

“Once we can fully open to invite people in, if social distancing is still in place by this point we have enough space to separate tables to create a distance between people.

“We will also be dog friendly so people can bring there dogs with them.
